Dress like a rum 'un!

Murder Mystery Dinner - A Rum Murder

Friday 28th February, 7pm till 11pm

New Mills Golf Club are delighted to welcome the 'Shot in the dark' production company, to perform 'A Rum Murder', one of their Murder Mysteries based around and between a three course dinner for their audience.

Shot in the dark are the UK's most fun, entertaining and professional Murder Mystery Company - an innovative blend of the writing of the renowned professional playwright John Waterhouse (Casagua Productions), and the talented actor/director David Samuels (Nuts & Bolts Theatre Company), along with an accomplished and experienced cast.

The Buxom Buccaneer, a notorious dockside tavern in Kingston, Jamaica was to have been the location for a meeting of some of the most feared pirates in the area, under parle. As the strongest pirate in the Caribbean, Longpistol was to have been the host but he has been found dead, drowned inside a barrel of rum. Now there is a new item on the agenda for the pirate meeting - who killed Longpistol?

The audience, diners, guests, amateur sleuths, call yourself what you will, are encouraged to play your part in solving this Murder Mystery by being the detectives who deduce whodunnit. It is preferred that everyone dresses like a rum 'un on the poop deck to fit with the theme of the evening, with a prize for the best costume.

The evening will involve a 3 course meal with scenes from the Murder Mystery being acted out between courses, and between the dining tables. Although the entertaining evening is offered to playing and social members at a reduced rate, it is open to visitors who are equally welcome to join in. Seating will be based on tables of 8-12 people, and groups who wish to sit together should declare so when buying your tickets, and best endeavours will be made to accommodate this. The main course will be a mixture of meat and fish salad served in a platter per table, helping to ensure a working atmosphere as the clues are discussed - there's a prize for the winning detectives.
