Murder Mystery Dinner - 1930's Chizzlepoke Hall

Friday 26th July, 7pm till 11pm

New Mills Golf Club are delighted to welcome the 'Shot in the dark' production company, to perform 'Chizzlepoke Hall', one of their Murder Mysteries based around and between a three course dinner for their audience. Shot in the dark are the UK's most fun, entertaining and professional Murder Mystery Company - an innovative blend of the writing of the renowned professional playright John Waterhouse (Casagua Productions), and the talented actor/director David Samuels (Nuts & Bolts Theatre Company), along with an accomplished and experienced cast.

Five famous people are guests of honour at a ball being held to mark the state visit of Prince Zegobian, ruler of the island of Shebulibar in the Indian Ocean. But what happens when the VIP guest fails to arrive? The audience, diners, guests, amateur sleuths, call yourself what you will, are encouraged to play your part in solving this Murder Mystery by being the detectives who deduce whodunnit. It is preferred that everyone dresses 1930’s period style to fit with the theme of the evening, with a prize for the best costume.

The evening will involve a 3 course meal with scenes from the Murder Mystery being acted out between courses, and between the dining tables. Although the entertaining evening is offered to playing and social members at a reduced rate, it is open to visitors who are equally welcome to join in. Seating will be based on tables of 8-12 people, and groups who wish to sit together should declare so when buying your tickets, and best endeavours will be made to accommodate this. The main course will be a mixture of meat and fish salad served in a platter per table, helping to ensure a working atmosphere as the clues are discussed - there's a prize for the winning detectives.

Tickets are £17.50 (£15 members) per person and need to be purchased in advance from John or Liz behind the bar at the Golf Club. Tickets can be reserved for a day or two before payment by phoning John or Liz on 01663 743485. Please arrive around 7pm as the show will start at 7:30pm.

There is ample parking at the Golf Club, though if drivers are planning on drinking then taxis are advised - High Peak Taxis from New Mills have been very helpful in the past.
