New Mills Business Network began in October 2006 as an initiative developed by New Mills School Business and Enterprise College. The aim was to enhance the school specialism in Business and Enterprise by establishing more connections with the local business community and developing relationships between the local community and the school. The initiative has been highly successful and the group now has more than 100 business connections within the database.

Networking at the Group

The meetings are monthly and currently we aim for the third Tuesday in each month. The meetings start at 07:30am and finish around 09:00am. Bacon/egg sandwiches, tea/coffee is available throughout the meeting.

There is plenty of opportunity for networking and developing new contacts and there is a presentation by a guest speaker which tends to last 20 minutes or so. Everyone has the opportunity to introduce themselves, who they are and what they do – a mini commercial!

Meeting dates for your diary

April 28th 2016 - There will be an introduction by Simon Belt around the theme of small business website development "Most businesses have or are in the process of setting up website, yet many find the process a little bewildering. Simon will try and show how each part of the process is very much like paper based or face to face promotion. By starting with a blank website, Simon will show you how a business could build a website in 30 minutes by replicating the best of what they do face to face. It will be a practical and real world demonstration that website development isn’t an alien activity."
